Student from Czech Republic
Got an email this morning for someone wanting to place a an exchange student with a family:
Hello Shawn... my name is David Godwin and I am the area
representative for a non-profit organization called CCI (cci-exchange.com). I live in Houston and work with foreign
exchange students within a 120 mile radius. One primary
responsibility I have is matching volunteer host families with
foreign exchange students. These students always come equipped

Everyday blogger
I've heard if you want to take better pictures, take at least one photo a day. If you want to be a better writer, write daily. I haven't posted much here lately because I've been trying to beef up my blogs at uberdev and at Kaizen. Now that I've finished school I have much more time than what I'm used to so I'm definitely going to start writing more. It's my goal to eventually entertain with writing and/or any other medium that catches my attention.
Peace in the middle East!
Does anyone really know what time it is?
I had an interesting conversation with my clock this morning. I noticed that the clock in the living room looked to be an hour behind then the one in my bedroom. So I promptly asked the living room clock "Hey, why are you an hour behind of all the other clocks?" To which the clock responded, "You fool. I'm twisted and because of the way I'm twisted the 12 is now where the 1 is supposed to be."
weird water
I was at work and going for my usual liter of tap water. I earn the weirdest looks when filling up my Ozarka bottle with Houston's superior water, especially when there is "purified" water delivered by some large water company. Probably Ozarka! I noticed this morning that my water didn't have the same dull, tasteless feel to it. This time the taste was reminiscent of malt, barley, and hops - yes, beer! very strange. Why are my taste buds so out of whack?
The Turtle Man
I honestly don't know what to think about this, therefore I honestly don't know what to say.
miniature blogging, new job, finishing escuela
Been a while since i've posted here, this would be thanks to starting a new job. Kevin (friend from uop days) got me into Chevron and it's been really good so far. I love being downtown and living 10 minutes from work. Simply awesome. I helped him move into his new place yesterday so working on my homework today is proving to be difficult.
Samurai Training
I am undergoing a transformation that will let me go under rigorous training. I am going to become a samurai and I am going to document how to do this in book form. It might be wondered how serious I am about becoming a samurai. To answer this question you have only to observe that there is a serious lack of samurai in today's society.
Teaching
Just got back from the dojo. Alfredo was there tonite and I asked him to teach. I'm glad I did, I definitely learned something about teaching style. Alfredo really did a good job of explaining the techniques which is something I need to improve on. Tonite's class was interesting, aside from Alfredo and I, it was a father and son class. I don't think it was planned that way but it was kinda cool.
I heart Drupal
Drupal has to have the easiest user management system that I have ever seen for a content management system. Drupal's administration system is already super organized to start off with, and they didn't drop the ball when the designed the way admins give access to users. It is super easy to give certain users access to certain features as well as resources, i.e., content. Additionally, varying levels of administrative access can be given to users. I've got a lot of projects in the works and I'm glad I made the switch from Joomla to Drupal.
